      We, the members of the Clinton Police Department believe that a joint effort with an empowered community will allow us to make decisions reflecting the diversity of the community with respect for the dignity and rights of all individuals.

     We recognize our duty to educate the public in crime prevention, drug resistance and other relevant issues concerning law enforcement.

     We are committed to the prevention and suppression of criminal activity through improved identification, apprehension and prosecution of offenders and by elimination or reduction of opportunities to commit crime.

     We will aid our town and governmental agencies in the planning and management of ongoing community service activities and special events.

     We recognize that the Department’s employees are its greatest asset and assume a responsibility to treat them professionally and support their professional development.

     We pledge to innovatively solve problems in concert with the community. To provide our citizens with an improved quality of life free from fear and disorder, and to achieve this by promoting values of a free society.

     The Clinton Police Department will enforce the laws and ordinances in a fair and impartial manner, recognizing both the statutory and judicial limitations of authority.
